The Middle Man

OK, because I have a gun to my head I've "decided" to post... So lets see what I can pull out of the hat today... NO PRESSURE OR ANYTHING -- JADE!

This past weekend I was the unfortunate victim of cellphone theft... yes I know CRAZY... but I'm not here to complain about that, I could go on for days about that but I won't.

what I am going to complain about is the fact that companies have insurance programs set up to aid customers when things like this happens, having never lost a phone before or had one stolen for that matter (yes, my cherry has been popped), I've never had to actually go through the process of getting a phone replaced.

So todays GRIPE goes to middle men! Yes the middle men, so as a customer I pay $$$ for phone insurance and my phone company runs with it but say I lose my phone the company simply files for a line hold until either I purchase a new phone or through my insurance a "new" one is received.

Here's where the middle ma comes in, I'm then transferred to a totally separate company which handles phone distribution, but before I can get a new phone I have to provide at minimum the precinct #, officer who assisted me and or badge number... are you kidding me!?!

No seriously, so I did the whole song and dance and had the police station confirm my claim and you'd think I'd have a phone shipped out but noooooooooo... I have to pay a deductible and not a small one either! And only then can I receive my phone, but ooh yeah you have to wait until Monday for your phone to be mailed. But it's Sunday what do you mean!?! *deep sigh and so I wait*

Well my phone shipment confirmation was received and a tracking number emailed, and so I happily waited because at least Mr. Middle Man sends their phones next day... Now its Tuesday (the big day) I've gone 2 days without my phone and the world isn't the same I'm cut off from my friends and its not fun. My phone arrives and I happily open the box and to my surprise *drum roll please*

NOT ONLY IS IT NOT MY PHONE BUT ITS NOT EVEN MY CARRIER! *SPAZZING HEAVILY*

So now, I have to call Mr. Middle Man again but this time I'm not so nice about things where the hell is my phone and how exactly does one mistake one phone for another!?! and I'm told we're deeply sorry (which they're not), we're sending you your proper phone now, this happens 1/1,000,000. Apparently I'm that 1,000,000th person to get the sh*t end of the stick.

So now I'm forced to sit and wait as a new phone is shipped out... and I can't even get a guarantee that it'll be my phone... and so I wait another day of being cut off from the world...

And so the only way I've been able to laugh at the situation was the fact that I played hockey with the box in my mailroom... All I can do is wait and hope that tomorrow my phone comes... but I won't hold my breath.

In memory of 9/11

Today is a day of remembrance and on this day I’m always reminded that my life was spared.
The morning of Sept 11th I was on my way to the World Trade Center to purchase Godiva chocolates for a trade show event. On my way there, I changed my mind and thought it would be best to go during lunchtime. I guess I had an angel watching over me.
Join me in keeping the memory of our lost loved ones alive and
those who were spared within our embrace.

If you have a story similar to mine or know of someone that does, please feel free to share.

What Goes Around, Comes Around!

Let me start off by explaining the purpose of today’s gripe in a few words:
“What Goes Around Comes Around”

My friend had a live in boyfriend when she met someone of interest. She flirted with the guy and eventually began dating him even though she was still in a relationship (the poor guy didn’t see it coming). Eventually, she broke it off with the poor fellow and began dating her new fling. He wined and dined her, bought her nice things and after 3 months of dating, he proposed to her. Like an idiot she took the bait. 3 months later she became pregnant and 5 months later she wedded. Soon after giving birth she found out her new husband was getting it on with her neighbor. He obviously denied the relationship at first, but soon after caved in and admitted his wrong doings.
Now you won’t believe this, but she forgave him and had make-up sex that lead to another pregnancy. Yeah, I know what your think.. WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING!!!… Well I guess she wasn’t. After a few years went by, he ventured off again in uncharted territories and found yet another stank to mess around with. This time he wasn’t so discrete about things and as history has a way of repeating itself. Yup, she threw him out the house again and Yep, SHE CAVED IN AGAIN AND TOOK THIS GUY BACK!… so as you can tell by now this is a lost case. But I guess she got a taste of her own medicine. She messed around on her ex-boyfriend and now the same guy she cheated with does the same to her.. So the statement remains true in every sense of the word “What Goes Around, Comes around” and in this instance…
“It comes around, and around, and around”!
Send me your advice on this situation or any stories you want to share.
